The Society was formed in 1888, and is a charitable
organisation whose aim is to promote the Local History and Archaeology of
the district and to secure the preservation of historic buildings.

Meetings are held monthly from September to May, covering all aspects of
archaeology and local history.
Outings are arranged, and members receive regular newsletters and the annual
magazine 'Yarmouth Local History & Archaeology'.
